MBA vs STEM MBA

International Student/The STEM MBA is awaiting SEVP approval. Until that is confirmed, MSU will not be able to issue the Form I-20 for students applying for F1 Visa status. This page will be updated as soon as the status changes.

MBA

  • The MBA covers an array of business disciplines. Graduates gain the edge needed to excel in business and lead in an ever-changing global economy. 
  • 34 credit hours (12 courses without foundation courses).
  • Modalities offered: Traditional, Online, and Accelerated.
  • The MBA provides the opportunity for a 12-month approved Optional Practical Training (OPT) for international students pursuing the MBA under an F-1 visa status.

STEM MBA

  • The STEM MBA program combines business acumen with technical innovation. Our STEM MBA is designed for forward-thinking individuals who seek to blend their passion for science, technology, engineering, or mathematics with the strategic leadership skills essential for today's rapidly evolving business landscape.
  • 34 credit hours (12 courses without foundation courses).
  • Modalities offered: Traditional, Online, and Accelerated. 
  • The STEM MBA provides the opportunity for a 24-month extension of already approved Optional Practical Training (OPT) for international students pursuing the STEM MBA under an F-1 visa status (36 months total).

NOTE

  • Students must select between the MBA or STEM MBA programs. Only one of these programs can be completed.
  • The MBA and STEM MBA are accredited by the AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
